Christine Becker teaches courses on film and television history and analysis and on media stardom and celebrity culture. Her most recent publication, It’s the Pictures That Got Small: Hollywood Film Stars on Fifties Television (Wesleyan University Press, 2008), offers an industrial and cultural analysis of film stars who crossed over into television in the 1950s. She has also been published in the Journal of Radio Studies, the Journal of Popular Culture, Framework and Mediascape. She is currently at work on a new project comparing contemporary British and American network television programming and industry strategies.
